This was the last week of OSK for me and all other YFU students. This week was not as packed as last week, but I still did plenty. On Monday another exchange student came over and we just hung out. I also learned that German radio is great, they know how to play different types of music on the same station! On Tuesday I saw my first full German movie (no subtitles). Dirk, Lukas and I went to see Planes 2 in theaters. It was super confusing, but because it was a Disney movie it wasn't too hard to catch the storyline. One funny culture thing is that movie theaters here are super super classy. They have fancy chairs that you sink into, they order your drinks (like someone comes up to you before the movie), they have a little shelf in front of you for your food, the screen has a curtain in front of it, and it doesn't cost 100 dollars! Wednesday we went shopping and I bought a rainjacket because you really do need it up here. One moment it is sunny and there isn't a single cloud in the sky, the next minute it's pouring. I also went out and got a haircut, and I'm now doing my hair a bit different. I'm more European now! Haha. On Thursday all of the exchange students had a party for our temporary host families. Americans all made American foods, so I made grilled cheese! I spent 2 hours making and cooking my 60 grilled cheeses! At the party the Americans said a small thank you speech (I said thanks for dealing with me, but sorry, I'm staying here), and we sang a classic northern German folk song with the Japanese students. The Japanese then did a dance and sang a little song themselves. Friday was our last day in class, so we had fun. We had breakfest together and we watched Monsters Inc. in German with German subtitles. Dirk's parents then visited, we had a great dinner of homemade pizza (Mom, sorry, but Uli may have won this battle, you need to make Hawiian pizza...), and then I went out with my closest friends for a few hours. Saturday morning I went to breakfest with those 2 closest friends and then said goodbye to one of them ='(. I came home and cleaned my room, and also helped Lukas (the 7 year old) 'clean' the bathroom. Sorry Mom and Dad, I didn't realize when I was 7 when you clean you really are just making a bigger mess! I then went out and did the ALS ice bucket challlenge because my wonderful sister decided I needed something to do. Sunday we had 2 families come over and we just hung out all day, played TONS of soccer, and I taught the families the wonders of a S'more! We also cooked our wurst over the campfire, but not like Germans ever eat wurst. I go to the school Monday at 12 to get my scheduele, and on Tuesday I start my first full day of German school. Super excited to meet people my age, but also scared because I have to learn from a teacher speaking German... Most of the other exchange students are gone, but a few are still here. Now, time to get ready for school!!
