This week was packed! I had the orientation class every weekday, but I still did plenty after school. Monday we chilled at the house, and Uli and I went shopping. While shopping I found a Milka chocolate section. They had so many different kinds of chocolate, and I may have gone home with two... haha. Tuesday I went to another exchange student's house and we went to Husum. There I learned a very important lesson, how to PROPERLY order 2 scoops of ice cream. I asked for 2 scoops of ice cream one chocolate, and one mint. The person took it as 2 seperate cones of icecream because I was with another person. At first I thought this would be an amazing thing, TWO WHOLE ICE CREAMS, but I soon learned that melty ice cream and no extra hands is not a good thing. By the time I was done with them, my hands were covered in ice cream. I then went back to her house and ate dinner with her family. Wednesday we played soccer, watched soccer, and were just very 'european.' Thursday during school we went to Husum for to do some tasks. We were all assigned a fruit that we had to buy at the market (I had a banana), we again had some questions for strangers, and then we got to walk back in the pouring rain! This week had tons and tons of rain, it rained almost everyday for at least 20 mins. While in Husum I found a HUGE milka bar. It was 3 times the size of a normal bar and was the price of 2... I couldn't resist but buy it. To put it into perspective, this thing weighs 2/3s of a pound, and it was way less than a drink at starbucks. After school the kids, Uli, and I went to a swimming pool. There I met a student going to my school, which was a super fun coincidence. I also learned from Uli that how I swim isn't correct, so I have lots of work to doing with my swimming, haha. We went home, and I made my first meal for them, grilled cheese and Uli made tomato soup. They had never heard of it so I thought, hey why not! Everyone seemed to love them, or at least they said they did. Friday I went to Husum and hung out with the other exchange students, and after went to one of their houses to work on a project. At her house, I got to meet a cat... named Carl. Saturday was a relaxed day, I had my first kinderegg (a chocolate egg with a plastic toy inside, illegal in the US), went on a little walk with Lukas in the neiborhood, met the grandparents, and went to a BBQ. The BBQ wasn't super 'German', but they did have bratwurst that were at least a foot long. The BBQ was close to my school, so Max and I walked there. For those of you who don't know, I have one week of OSK left and then the next week I start school. My summer break ended within days of me leaving for Germany. Sunday was by far the Highlight of my week. The entire group of exchange students went to Hamburg with the teachers. This day had so much packed into it's getting it's own post. Thanks! Tchüss!
